An interesting TTRPG event before school starts in the Fall.

Here’s a link to participating stores as well as more information on the event itself.

Our friends at Critical Role have made a GM’s Round Table discussion.

That video can be found on YouTube here.

Maybe we’ve written Candela Obscura off too soon?

I think this event has the potential to get people talking about the game again. I’ve heard from watching the OG GM Adventures Daggerheart Beats on YouTube that the numbers for the video side of CO are declining. While that may unfortunately be the case, one-shots of the game sound like they could be a lot of fun.

People seem to have forgotten that Illuminated Worlds, the system on which CO is based, was only intended for shorter games at conventions and one-shots. Mechanically, it is just not meant to be used in long form campaigns. It really seems to work for the Actual Play, but at that point would it be easier just to LARP? I don’t know.

I will definitely be following this story for a while. I’m curious to see what the turnout for CO week will be and what it does for the show’s numbers. I think it really is a great short form game, especially if you’re not too technical about the rules. More on that after I have a chance to read through the rulebook that I borrowed.

Thank you for being here today with me. I appreciate you. Please embrace the things that bring you the most joy.
