I can’t believe the 19th passed and I barely noticed.

It’s been a whole year since we rescued two adorable, shivering, black fuzzballs from beneath our deck. I syringe/bottle fed them for months. We must’ve gotten it right because now they’re a whole year old and regular cat sized. They’re awfully cute. Their names are Noche and Thunder. #blackcats.

I’m just glad and grateful that we have two happy, healthy kittens. They’ve been wonderful to have around and we love them. Of course there have been the usual kitten growing pains of things getting knocked off shelves or chewed/clawed to pieces. I lost a beard comb and my lucky piece of Rose Quartz from my desk. My other rocks are now cowering in a drawer with my beard brush. Thunder knows how drawers work and my beard ties are nowhere to be found.

Cuteness aside, it’s been a pretty mediocre month overall.

Time is passing at a rate I had not previously imagined. Our high school senior is already done with marching band season and getting geared up for competitions and honor bands. I don’t know where the time went. But wow they grow up fast.

The rest of the human kids are doing fine. I have a great deal of concern for one of the other fur kids, Snoopy, as he isn’t getting any younger or healthier. He’s a shell of his former physical health but remains in good cuddly spirits and is still doing all the usual old cat stuff. Lots of naps and never wanders too far from the litter box.

I think somebody in the TTRPG community can declare victory or something.

Honestly I just want to embrace solo TTRPGs and let someone else worry about all the content creation. Then I see Professor DM, Bob, or one of the other DungeonStooges making some half-baked video, and suddenly I remember part of why I do this. Not to mention if I wasn’t here to remind everyone of life outside of Dungeons & Dragons 5.5E, who would? I mean, there’s probably someone, but it feels so empty without me.

I think all the haters who are bitter about my stance on AI would love it if I would curl up in a ball and never make noise again. I plan to keep going as long as I can, but I’m sure a couple of anti-AI people are hoping for my downfall. Not to mention all of the other people I’ve (inadvertently in some cases) cheesed off over the years.

I’m done holding back on certain topics, though. If I see something I vehemently disagree with, I’m going to respond. I’m tired of some people grifting their way through the hobby instead of uplifting it like they should be. We are the guardians of the TTRPG hobby, not Wizards of the Coast, not Hasbro, not the Critical Role cast or Darrington Press. We’ve still got this.

Right now I just want to play some solo Twilight Sword using my own rules or Dragonbane solo. I’m in the mood of anything not involving other people. TTRPG YouTube has proven a major disappointment this week. X (Twitter) is full of the usual rhetoric around Wizards of the Coast D&D5.5E. It would be cool to get some good news for a change.

Short post this month.

Back next month with more. Thanks for stopping by. I couldn’t do this without the support of a small, mighty, determined group of people. Thank you again!
