For some stupid stuff that happened over on YouTube.

This is the first time I’ve felt compelled to share about this topic in over six months. Ever since Shonner’s unfortunate passing people have been fairly well behaved on YouTube. Something came up on Monday that royally urinated upon my non-gluten cereal, however.

There’s a guy who I’ll call “whatshisname.” I’m not going to name him directly because he deserves no clout whatsoever. If anything I’d love to see him on the receiving end of a channel ban, but that never happens to the ones who truly deserve it either. This little buttsmurf is guilty of several offenses against many respected women DungeonTubers. It’s downright appalling.

Using the power of negativity for the sake of clout chasing just makes one’s channel look bad when all is said and done. That’s the gist of the video I made on Monday night to vent rage on this whole issue. There, I saved someone eight minutes and I can’t link it because people might get the wrong impression about leaving Facebook or Instagram.

It’s worth a laugh to watch me wrestling with my Higher Self over my reaction to this. Part of me wants to freak out, the other part wants to stay committed to my spiritual values. It’s hard to promote peace, understanding, unconditional love, and kindness when part of me really wants to [REDACTED] the living {REDACTED} who badly deserves it. Actually multiple somebodies who actually deserve it.

This whole flappus really started because one guy decided to be unkind to some well known DungeonTubers and a few that aren’t well known like my friend Knigobi. I’d take a bullet for Jaclyn. She’s really a hardworking, very productive, thoughtful D&D content creator. She’s what the space needs right now even if others don’t agree.

I’ll give all my usual mantras and disclaimers.

What works at my table might not work at your roleplaying table. Please, do what works best for you and your group. You don’t need to tell anyone else how to run their table, nor is it my job to tell you how to run yours. Get used to the idea and move on, please.

No one is the Universe’s gift to tabletop roleplaying. Please stop acting like it. Your “4D” roleplaying is a load of malarky. So is the strictly Bro Rues As Written 1E AD&D only thing. No one has the marketplace of ideas cornered on how to roleplay. Please act like it.

Knigobi has very specifically stated that she will not be switching from Dungeons & Dragons 5E over to another game. I respect and admire that dedication. It inspires me to love Dragonbane that much more because I like the system better. I still love D&D. My opinion of Wizards of the Coast is another story. But no one is changing Knigobi’s mind. Please stop trying to change someone else’s game.

This is my opinion. It’s my blog, my website, and my YouTube channel on that platform. If you don’t like my opinion, please go find your own blog, website, channel, whatever and move the 🦆🦆🦆on. I don’t force my opinion on others. Neither should you, whatshisname.

We’re not going to agree on everything. I’m happy to live with that. Unfortunately it appears that some of us have been living in a stuck-up echo chamber of the same stale ideas being regurgitated daily that we’ve completely forgotten how to interact with the outside world. Learn when your input is not necessary or welcome.

Unsolicited advice that doesn’t help, isn’t. Help that doesn’t, isn’t. Learn when to keep your nose out of other people’s videos, whatshisname.

Your “reaction” is nothing of the sort, dude. It’s six and a half boring hours of you and your clown audience making an utter jackass of yourselves. Have some respect and dignity for once. (Not to mention brevity and succinctness. Holy crap.)

I apologize to my regular audience.

I’ve been triggered all day. I’ve lost my patience. I need to go meditate in nature to get some balance and flow back.

Please, make today and every day about being patient, kind, and understanding of one another. We shouldn’t be fighting over whose take on TTRPGs is the best or why blah style is better than everyone else’s. What’s important is lifting one another up and having some compassion for one another. It’s best to be respectful of each other’s differences and learn when to let stuff go.

On that note, fin. Publius. See you in a day or two after I take a mental health day and work on my content.
