Introducing the first new Kin of 2025 a little early.

Otterkin:
Roughly the size of halflings, these furry humanoids are anthropomorphic Otters. Much like their animal cousins, they are intelligent, nimble, and playful. They are capable swimmers in general. Their pacifistic nature can make them easy prey for large carnivores and bigger Kin.
Cultural word of caution: Words such as “cute” and “adorable” are to be avoided until one is familiar with the Otter Kin in question. Some prefer not to be called, “Cute.”

Abilities:

Natural Swimmer: (No WP cost.)
You move at full speed in the water and begin with Swimming (AGL) at +6 levels (Maximum 18.)

Impassioned Barter: (3 WP per use. May only be used on the same “customer” once per day.”
You can negotiate almost anything with anywhere at any time, which is good when suing for peace with intelligent enemies. You get a Boon on Bartering for one round. (No extra action cost.)

A simple otterkin usually dressed in robes. They do not carry weapons. These otterkin are the leaders of the village and function as sages, apothecaries, and guides for others. they are usually very kind. Most villages don’t have an established hierarchy of authority figures.

Village guards wear Leather armor and carry simple clubs made of hard wood and slings. They tend to fight defensively and only become aggressive when cornered. They also serve as the police of the village and as such usually have slightly better lodgings and food.

Aside from a handful of village elders and a handful of village guards, most Otterkin are hunters, gatherers, woodsmen, herders, and artisans. Otterkin merchants are a force to be reckoned with and every village usually has two or three around.
