Oni Squatch

Description:
Towering and broad-shouldered, the Oni Squatch resembles a colossal, fur-covered humanoid with long arms and a hunched, predatory gait. Its matted hair is streaked with ash and old blood, and crude oni-like features emerge from beneath the fur: jutting tusks, glowing eyes, and a heavy brow carved with ritual scars. It moves through deep forests with unnatural silence, leaving behind twisted trees, shattered bones, and the lingering smell of smoke and rot. Scholars argue whether it is a forest spirit corrupted into a demon, or a demon that learned to wear the forest like a skin.

Resistance: Damage from non-magical weapons is halved.
Demon: Anything that can affect demons such as Banish or Purge does the appropriate damage to Oni Squatch.
Vanish Without a Trace: As long as it is in or near a wooded area, Oni Squatch can move up to 24 meters, walk behind a tree of any size, and disappear without a trace, as if vansishing into thin air.

Oni Squatch Attacks:

D6 Attacks:

1. Crushing Fist: The blow smashes one target within 2 meters for 2d10 bludgeoning damage.
2. Rending Claws: One target within 2 meters takes 2d8 slashing damage.
3. Shoulder Slam: The target is hurled 2d6 meters away and takes the same amount of bludgeoning damage. Armor has no effect.
4. Tree-Club Swing: The Oni tears free a tree or massive branch as an improvised weapon and swings for 2d8 bludgeoning damage to anyone within 4 meters.
5. Demonic Roar: All enemies within 10 meters must make a Fear Test.
6. Savage Frenzy: Anyone within 4m takes 1d10 slashing damage.

SPECIAL

Forest Stalker:
In forests, the Oni Squatch always acts first in the first round of combat unless the characters succeed at a Awareness roll.

Demonic Presence:
Animals instinctively flee the Oni Squatch territory. Horses refuse to advance, birds fall silent, and campfires sputter unnaturally. Small animals hide. Predatory animals make a wide path.
