It’s late and I tried unsuccessfully to go to bed early tonight. My lower back hurts so much I can’t sleep or think straight. I kinda think the barometer is doing flip-flops again.
The biggest monster in most fantasy TTRPGs is the schedule. It’s not just a punchline, it’s a reality. Trying to get five or six twenty-somethings schedules to line up is a monumental task. Once people have full time jobs, spouses, kids, various other extracurricular activities (sports, music, religion, community involvement, therapy, etc) a house, and all that other adulting stuff, who has time to game? It’s a subject worth more of a deep dive than I’ll get into here, but I thought I’d mention it.
I keep thinking about writing some scenarios for a zombie apocalypse game like Walking Dead Universe or Rotworld. I could even make it a generic d100 Basic RPG adventure just to make it easy on people. I looked at doing it during the BRP Challenge last year. It might be a just-for-fun project given I doubt it would sell all that amazingly well. Talk about a niche within an already small niche.
I even considered doing an entire zombie TTRPG sourcebook with different types of zombies, scenarios, new weapons, ways of stopping them, and so forth. Again, it’s pretty niche. I almost think it would be better to do a fantasy sourcebook for Dragonbane in terms of time well spent. I guess I just have a soft spot for brain munchers.
Dragonbane plus zombies: Night of the Living Dead Duck. Mirth and mayhem in a zombie fantasy apocalypse. It could be a thing I guess. Might be fun to put together closer to Halloween. I’d buy it.
The main goal today was just to get something published. It’s great being here. I’m happy and grateful to have a friend like you. Hope you’re having a great weekend.
Thank you for being here with me today. I appreciate you. Keep it real, but please strive for positivity, too. Please embrace the things that bring you the most joy in your life.
