Once upon a time I went on this sweet ride at Epcot Center.
I’m talking about Figment, my wife’s favorite dragon. If you would like to learn more, here’s the Wikipedia page. I’m happy to see he’s still around and bringing enjoyment to new generations of fans.

I’m dropping Figment in as a part of Dragon Week as a way to bring more mirth and mayhem into Dragonbane or possibly even a Dungeons & Dragons game. This soft, squishy, cute, funny little (fae?) dragon brings messages of positivity and imagination wherever he goes. He’s a nice break from a stream of regular, potentially violent encounters that occur in most campaign settings. His only agenda is to make characters smile and use their creativity.
Figment will be especially helpful around bards or anyone else with creative talents. I wouldn’t go so far as to let him be a familiar to an Illusionist type character, though. If Figment becomes a familiar to just one mage, he can’t spread is message of fun and imagination all over the world. But he might stay for a time should it amuse him or if someone really needs his help.
This is just a cute little for-fun drop in to an ongoing campaign or an encounter on a night when maybe players are missing from the game, and the GM needs a solid diversion. Imagine what kinds of quests Figment might drop on the group. This could actually take the group down an even weirder rabbit hole than whatever they thought they had planned.
Regardless of whether you incorporate Figment into a game or not, I hope you carry his message of joy and creativity wherever you go. If he’s not your jam, that’s okay. Enjoy whatever kind of game you and your players want to explore.

Dragon Week is a community shared creation effort among YouTubers and old bald white dudes from the Midwest flyover states. It was originally created by Ginny Di and Pointy Hat. Last year was Kraken Week. Not really my jam, but… This year is Dragon Week! Woot! Anyone can participate. Guidelines for getting involved here.
Thank you for being here with me today. I appreciate you. Keep it real, but please strive for positivity, too. Please embrace the things that bring you the most joy in your life.
