D&D 5E Compatible Adventure by Gazpacho’s Tabletop
If you’re looking to break up your campaign with a riotous, goblin-fueled detour—or just want a one-shot your players will never forget—Gazpacho’s Bonfire Night (Remastered 2024) might be exactly what your table needs. (My affiliate link to DriveThruRPG. The small percentage of each purchase really helps. Thank you!)
This 5E-compatible adventure drops your party into the middle of Bonfire Night, a goblin holiday where absolutely everything that can go wrong… probably will. It’s loud, it’s unpredictable, and it’s so much fun.
[Please Note: Gazpacho was kind enough to send me a PDF copy of this adventure for review.]
From the very first page, this adventure oozes style. The writing is packed with energy and absurd charm, while the layout brings that zine-style flair you’d expect from something that clearly doesn’t take itself too seriously—but still delivers a tight, playable experience. And best of all? You don’t need to do a ton of prep. There are encounter tables, flavorful locations, and NPCs with strong personalities, making it easy to run on the fly or drop into an existing game.
Why I Loved It:
First off we get a synopsis and brief explanation of Britain’s Bonfire Night celebration from the real world. Plus we get goulash. (IYKYK.) This fantasy version of the festival, complete with goblins, has a little something for everyone.
There are goblin shenanigans and a big surprise. If your players enjoy creative chaos and unexpected outcomes, this delivers in spades. It does allow characters level 1-3 a break from the serious stuff or to start out on a mirthful campaign– If adjusted for higher levels it’s perfect for lightening the tone in a dark campaign or injecting humor between story arcs.
This adventure is great for encouraging player agency. There’s room for exploration, nonsense, and clever problem-solving—or just embracing the madness.
The art and layout are as explosive as the content itself, and it all supports the theme beautifully.
Whether your players are long-time goblin-lovers or just ready for something a little unhinged, Gazpacho’s Bonfire Night gives them the keys to the fireworks cart and dares them to drive.
It doesn’t have to be for just D&D 5E. Like so many other adventures for 5E, this can be easily converted or shoehorned into Pathfinder 2E Core Remastered, Shadowdark, Mork Borg, Castles & Crusades, or even my beloved Dragonbane. It’s got mostly basic characters and monsters who would be easy to convert. Most of the adventure is based on the strength of characters and interactions as opposed to combat.
Final Verdict:
Highly recommended for DMs looking to spice up their game night with an unpredictable, laughter-filled romp. This is goblin chaos done right—and your players will be talking about it long after the bonfire burns out.
