Monday Monster: Carnivorous Venom Toad

For Use With Dragonbane RPG.

Description: This creature resembles a horned toad with a mouthful of sharp jagged teeth. They are approximately the size of a large dog. Their mouths are full of venom which they themselves are immune to but can easily prove fatal within minutes to anyone bitten or sprayed by one.

Resistance: Immune to poison.
Poor eyesight. These creatures will attack anything that smells or tastes like meat. They do not discriminate. The toad gorges itself on whatever it kills. It takes a Bane on all rolls in direct sunlight or bright lights.

MONSTER ATTACKS

D6 Attacks:

1: Startling Croak! The Toad lets out an unearthly croak causing a fear roll for any creature within 30 meters capable of hearing it. Reroll this result after the first time.

2: Lunge: The toad lurches forward in an attempt to bite one target within 4 meters dealing 2d8 slashing damage and injecting a lethal (12) poison.

3: Spit: The toad spits a stream of its vile spittle up to 8 meters at one target that deals 1d6 damage and administers paralyzing (12) poison. Armor does not prevent this damage.

4:  Engulf: The toad leaps into the air and wraps itself around the head and shoulders of one target within 6 meters. The unfortunate victim takes 2d8 piercing damage and lethal (12) poison as well as being knocked prone at the start of their turn. Luckily the creature’s jaws aren’t strong enough to maintain their hold for long.

5:Chomp Chomp! The toad bites at up to two targets within 4 meters of itself for 2d6 slashing damage and lethal (12) poison.

6: Venom Spray: The toad breathes a cone of venomous spittle 6 meters long meters long whose width at any given point is equal to the distance from the toad’s mouth. The spittle does 1d6 damage and administers paralyzing (12) poison. Armor does not prevent this damage.
