1d12 Unusual Miscellaneous Magic Items.
- Amulet of Ned Summoning: Once per day summons a random NPC named Ned. Always summons a different Ned every time. The Neds don’t know one another. Each has a different profession. Flip a coin or roll Odd/Even Heads: Ned is Helpful. Tails: Ned is not helpful. Ned is only around for a Stretch (10 minutes.)
- The Blood Lamp: This creepy looking magical lamp requires 1 Hit Point worth of blood to operate. It stays on as long as the donor is conscious and wishes it to be on. Relighting the lamp requires another 1 HP. (The GM may wish to have this lamp be an exception to the Shadowdark one hour torch rule if that is being used.)
- Bag of Cats: This magical cloth bag with a sleeping kitten embroidered on it moves and meows occasionally. Once per day the bag can be dumped out. 3d12 regular house cats appear on the ground around the bag’s owner and do not disappear. The bag refills 24 hours later with all new cats. Some of the cats may follow the bag’s owner around. Your character might wish to feed them. What did you expect? They’re regular house cats.
- Pillow of Good Rest: Big, fluffy pillow provides double the benefits of any given rest. (Short or Shift.) It can’t restore more HP or WP than the character’s max. Also ends Starvation, Thirst, Exhaustion and provides sweet dreams. Takes 2 encumbrance slots.
- Optimist’s Water Bottle: Unbreakable large clear glass bottle half full of water. As long as the bottle’s owner believes there is water in it, the bottle will stay half full. The bottle can’t be dumped for more than half its volume at any one time. If the bottle’s owner sees it has half empty, it will drain at the usual rate and remain empty for three additional shifts (18 hours) when it magically refills to the halfway mark. The bottle can’t change owners more than once every 24 hours.
- McGooh’s Spectacles: These eyeglasses magically fix the vision of the wearer no matter how bad it was before including blindness. However, once the glasses are removed the eyesight returns to the way it was before the glasses were worn.
- Mug O Coffee: Once per shift (this cup fills with a hot, magical black beverage that helps the imbiber wake up. Drinking the whole thing restores 1d4 Willpower Points. As an added bonus, the owner’s name and a cute emblem of their choice appears on the side of the mug.
- Extra Fingers: This strange pair of gloves has six fingers on the left and seven on the right. The mad wizard Eh-aye made these for his friend the thief. Once per Shift (6 hours or 4x/day) these gloves provide a Boon (Advantage) on Sleight of Hand checks.
- Dowsing Rods of Lie Detection: These two thin wire rods, when held loosely near one another, will cross in the presence of a lie once per Stretch (10 minutes.)
- Ofuda Ticker: This strange arcane device consists of a glass dome over a clockwork device. When a narrow strip of paper is fed into the machine it will print an Ofuda (Magic Seal of Banishment) once per day.
- Black Gumdrops: Usually found in a paper bag, these anise flavored candies can cure poison when ingested. They also function as regular candy. Found 1d8 in a bag.
- Tube of Goo. This tube contains 1d4 doses of restorative salve that heals 1d8 Hit Points per application. The goo smells terrible and must always be applied to open wounds in order to have the full effect.
