A new kin recently discovered during my Wednesday hexcrawl.
From the diary of “Old Wolf” of the Long Tooth.
We’ve discovered a hamlet with purple skinned beings, fairly large oval heads with huge black almond shaped eyes and otherwise snakelike facial features. They are generally skinny and wear peasant clothing. A few of them wear robes. We think those are the elders or council members. They speak very slowly in a language we can only make out parts of. One unique thing about them is they live very much in harmony with nature. The hamlet centers around a farm and everyone, even visitors, help with the farm.
When not working, they are fairly sociable. Most of the citizens of the hamlet gather around a very long table for communal meals. The meal is most often biscuits or bread and soup consisting of corn, potatoes, onions, and seasonal vegetables. They occasionally drink and snack from chutes that collect water and a sweet sap. My traveling companions are offended by the lack of beer or any liquor.
The concept of eating meat seemed to confuse them as did our weapons. They live in tune with the land so deeply even their houses appear to be molded from it. Their clothes are made of hemp fibers. Their elders seem very in harmony with the spirits. They are a peace loving people. We’ve rarely heard them disagree with each other. Apparently they fend off any potential threat to their farm using non-damaging magic.

Sorry, family. No stat blocks on these guys yet because this hamlet could be overthrown by a human peasant with a threshing sickle. Stats on their magic skill and some spells are in the works and I’ll put them out when they’re done. Ophid (snakelike) släkt (family or kin.) The citizens of the hamlet are a distant relation to the more hostile Snake Men the group encountered in this area. Apparently they were only hostile to the strangers and not the hamlet.
