I was onto this theme over six months ago.

From an email to a friend of mine while discussing YouTube:
The other thing I’m recommending to all of my friends, and I know I’m flogging heavily is all of the new players coming into the hobby with D&D 2024 from now until next year sometime. Let’s do as much as possible to encourage the new and returning players and DMs as humanly possible. That type of content is going to be growing in usefulness for several months to come.

So, what did I see the last couple of weeks? At least two of the top “DungeonTubers” are going to be making videos geared toward new players in Dungeons & Dragons. While it’s certainly not a new concept, I knew it was coming. I’ve just had the idea since the 2024 Player’s Handbook was announced. I was just waiting for it to hit the bigtime DungeonTubers that have thousands of followers, views, and monetization.

I know they didn’t get the idea from watching me. I’m so tiny as to not be a blip on anyone’s radar yet. I’m grateful for every view I get, but I doubt I’ll be getting emails from big DungeonTubers wanting to hang out sometime. LOL!
What was starting goal for Phase 1 of my YouTube Channel? Do a couple of videos discussing the basics of being a TTRPG Player or GM. What is a TTRPG? All that good stuff. Phase 1 is almost done. I need to get the kids out of the house long enough to finish my Dragonbane overview, though.

Phase 2 is going to be the meat and potatoes of my channel. It’s pretty much going to be my blog in video format. We’ll talk about adventure crafting, GM advice, monsters, maybe some horror gaming, ICONS, and a lot of the other usual stuff you see on here. (Yes, including my Tinfoil Hat Society pieces.)

Phase 3 (tentatively) will be more product focused if I have to guess. We’ll see what the landscape looks like after 1,000 followers and 4,000 public watch hours. I’m not expecting overnight or even fast results. Baby steps…
