This creature defies logic.

From the diary of Scholar Thelonious the Cowardly:
The first time we laid eyes on this thing, we weren’t sure anyone would believe we even saw it. Whatever it is has the front paws and upper torso of a bear. The face of a bear with walrus tusks protruding from it, but then the back of the thing was a flat tai like a beaver ending in spines. We found out the hard way it has retractable spines on its back like so many game fish. Its back legs ended in large, webbed feet.

This had to be some mage’s experiment gone horribly wrong. It seems to live as comfortably in the water as it does on land. It eats a steady diet of fish, clams, and the occasional unfortunate soul who wandered too close to the edge of the water. It seems to prefer mallard for some weird reason.

Gulp. Guess I’ll be staying a way from the water for a while. You should, too.

Bewalopus

MONSTER ATTACKS
D6 Attacks:
1: The creature lets out an unearthly roar. All creatures/characters within 30 meters must make a Fear Roll.
2: Maul: the creature attacks one character within 4 meters its front claws for 2d10 Damage. This attack is subject to EVADE or Parry as normal. Armor does apply vs the damage. If the attack is successful, the target is knocked prone as well.
3: Goring Bite: The Bewalopus attacks one creature within 4 meters with a goring bite that inflicts 2d12 damage and bleeds for an additional 1d4 damage until a CON Roll or Healing Roll is made to stop the bleeding.
4: Hug and Drag: The creature attempts to hug one creature or character of Medium size or smaller and drag them into the water if possible. Make an Opposed STR Test with the Bewalopus having a 18 STR score. If successful, the Bewalopus drags its victim 6 meters toward the nearest source of water (lake, river, pond, etc) and may keep going until it reaches the water and can drown the held creature.
Held creatures may not act until they are freed or make a free STR test on their turn to break free. Characters who break free may take their turn on the same Initiative count they break free on.
If dragged successfully into water more than 2 meters deep, the victim takes 1d6 Damage and begins to drown. See Page 53 of the Core Rulebook.
5: Thrash: All creatures within 4 meters take 1d10 + 1d6 Damage. Additionally, each character has a 30% chance to be hit with a spine. (See above.)
6: Charge! The creature gallops forward up to an additional 12 maters on land and sends up to two targets in front of it flying 2d8 meters also inflicting the same amount of damage and knocking them Prone for one round. Armor does not apply.
