Implementing a Wolfkin holiday in the Misty Vale.

Once per year, on the last Full Moon before the Autumn Equinox, all of the Wolfkin gather together in the square or lodge house near dusk to pay tribute to fallen family, packmates, packmates, and others through lit candles, trinkets, as well as offerings of food or beverages at the village spirit altar. Then, after everyone has gathered and offerings made, they tell stories, poems or sing songs of the fallen until midnight. Then, at exactly between sunset and sunrise, everyone howls together before going off to their homes and to bed.

The next day, many Wolfkin villagers find the spirits have been busy. Trinkets and token offerings have been returned, food and drink left for the departed have been consumed, and the candles are almost all extinguished. Some have even been visited by the spirits of friends and loved ones.

Typically the next day is spent with family and friends in quiet revelry. Pleasant conversations and meals together are common. Arguments and disagreements are almost unthinkable out of respect for the spirits. Village elders, animists, shamans, and druids spend the day in quiet contemplation, communing with more ancient spirits and those left with no one to mourn them.

Then  once the sun sets again, all returns to normal but maybe with a stronger sense of family.
