The first week back to school for the family and I’m exhausted.
No plan ever survives contact with the time table. I had aspirations of meditating, resting, and getting YouTube going. So far this week has been the exact opposite of smooth sailing so far. I’m anticipating the rest of the week is going to get better.
YouTube is especially giving me headaches for, umm… reasons I can’t get into. I did get a comment from Nick Nimmin, famous YouTube content creator, who said, “Don’t let trolls dictate your future.” That’s good advice, I suppose. Good old [REDACTED] is still out there lurking, though.
Disclaimer: This is my blog. This is how I see things and how I feel. There is little factual information being presented. Couple of notes on the TableTop RolePlaying Game front:
First: I do not care what was said in D&D Direct 2024. Short of Wizards of the Coast literally sending me the new core rulebooks for review, I have no desire to interact with that product or that company. I’m sorry, family. I just ain’t feeling that one.
Dragonbane remains one of the best fantasy TTRPGs I’ve ever seen in my life. The rule system is tried and true. It’s better tested than the Ampersand game 5E, 4E, and 3E combined. Dragonbane is truly a treasure to own, run, and create content for.
The other note is please be kind to Shadowdark RPG creator Kelsey Dionne. I suddenly see a lot of people trash talking her and the game for really no good reason other than social media clout. I’ve come to the conclusion in life that no amount of influence gained is worth openly trash talking someone else.
I may have said some fairly unkind things about a couple of people in the past that I truly and openly regret now. That experience might be different for others. I don’t know. Everyone is on their own journey.
Kelsey Dionne is an upstanding member of the #TTRPGCommunity. Please be kind to her as if she were a beloved member of your own family. I’ve always had glowing things to say about her and Shadowdark and always will. She was a friend to me back before she got huge with the game. If any of her critics took the time to get to know her, they would probably say the same.
That’s all I’ve got for today. I’m tired. I’m just so used to posting something before I go to bed I can’t just let things go.
Thank you for being here today with me. I appreciate you. Please embrace the things that bring you the most joy.
