Dragonbane solo play. I find that it helps me come up with adventures and maybe write a little fiction. Plus it’s a lot of fun. It’s Dragonbane, so it’s fun to begin with.
Have I mentioned lately that Dragonbane comes with a Solo Play Adventure right in the boxed core set? I wish more games did this because it give players a chance to try the game right out of the box on Day 1 while they’re waiting to get a group together. It also gives Game Masters a chance to get a feel for the setting and the system to an extent. Plus, solo gaming is fun.
That’s kinda the point of roleplaying games in general.
Contrary to what certain old talking heads on YouTube might have you believe, we’re here to have fun. TTRPGs are here to be fun. If we’re not having fun, we probably shouldn’t be spending $50+ on books, dice, minis, etc. That’s what this stuff is for. It’s supposed to be FUN. Have fun with it!

Personally, I think Dragonbane has the fun baked in with their mirth and mayhem attitude. Sure, there’s drama and combat, but there’s also Mallards and silliness in the game. I love that even the design of the game isn’t meant to be super serious all the time. We can have moments of levity where something Goofy or Donald happens. It makes me chuckle.
Yes, I roll dice by myself and chuckle at my own funny moments. Welcome to solo roleplaying. It’s fun. If I’ve learned anything in over 40+ years of gaming, it’s have fun.
Thank you for being here today with me. I appreciate you. Please embrace the things that bring you the most joy.
