Something unexpected restored my faith in humanity today.

My humble little YouTube channel was raided by my friend the OG GM over on his channel. The OG GM.

I’m still in shock that this even happened.

I damn near fainted. This was not requested by me nor expected. I totally didn’t see this coming.

Note to self: Change my YouTube banner. I love you, Peekaboo. But maybe not the message we’re looking to send anymore. He’s a good kitten, though.

I’m probably going to start making videos in earnest, too. I’ve been nervous about being on camera forever now. This might be the moment that pushed me over the edge to start making videos. I think I’m going to take a page from OG’s book and find myself an avatar. I’ve been working on and off figuring out OBS for months now.

All I ever intended to do was help out.

I chat with the OG GM on X (Twitter) on and off about different TTRPG related topics. We both like Shadowdark RPG. We both like to occasionally poke the Wizards of the Coast bear. I try to keep up on the happenings of the TTRPG industry, and he does an awesome job of that. Every so often I notice something he didn’t mention or I see something that goes a step further. We have some interesting conversations behind the scenes on X (Twitter.)

I don’t 100% agree with OG GM on everything, but he does know TTRPGs. We have a lot in common when it comes to games, especially older RPGs and superhero games. I think he’s a great guy that’s just had some bad exposure from past run-ins with other TTRPG YouTubers. OG GM and I don’t run 100% in the same circles, but as long as we all stay on our respective sides of the political fence, we’re fine. (*I’m just here for games, guys.)

I just want to see OG’s channel grow beyond 2,000 followers. I think he has the potential to gain a bigger audience than some of the more well known D&DTubers. Let’s please try to give him a chance? He’s done a brilliant job keeping up on the OGL Debacle, the fallout from it, Daggerheart, Games Workshop, Paizo, and even little indie crowdfunded projects every week.

I told my wife earlier if OG GM wasn’t clear out on the coast, I’d invite him over for dinner and some Shadowdark, Marvel, or whatever else. I think he’s a swell guy. I don’t want to be his blind echo chamber, but I’m a blog guy, he’s a video guy and somewhere we meet in the middle when it comes to TTRPGs.

Thanks for stopping by. Please go give the OG GM’s channel a look and subscribe if you feel inclined. I appreciate you all so very much. Please embrace the things that bring you joy.
