Brother of Klees’ Cell.

GM Note: Rooms 3 through 5 can be played in any order. I’ve put the dungeon together in some semblance of numerical order. Rooms 3 and 4 are next to each other. Room 5 is down a long corridor on the North wall. (Map to come.)

This cell seems more secure than the one next to it. There are several pristine paper seals taped across the crack in the door accompanying the various sigils and symbols on the door itself. There is also a large, solid iron lock on the door DC 13 to open. The door itself is heavy iron and stone, difficult to break and very tough to move for regular mortals.

Aside from the door, there are 5 cups and a series of channels among/around them on floor. The group will have to figure out in order to open the door, they will need to fill the cups and channel with water to activate the water ward on the door before it will open.

Klees and the Water Weird are unfamiliar with the ward and unable to assist. The cups have been partially filled in with dirt, soot, and dust. They aren’t obvious but are visible. The channels around and between the cups can be filled with water using the buckets from the blacksmith’s area if they think of it.

It’s up to the GM to decide how to adjudicate the puzzle portion. Once the circle/cups are filled and channel is at least ¾ full, a barrier of water shoots up out of the floor and offers full protection against fire attacks while creatures are inside. After the sigils and wards are dispelled and the iron lock is open, a DC 12 STR check will pull the door open.

Once the door is open, a large circular room with the salamander chained in the center. It appears to be in suspended animation. Another water ward encircles the large being on the floor. He is larger and more powerful that Klees. Broff, brother of Klees would be more intimidating were it not contained by water. Unless the group doesn’t decide to free it. The suspended animation and chains will be free if the creature is attacked.

Broff knows what has happened to Ghalid in the main cell of Room 5. He doesn’t know the specifics of the lock or wards, other than there would be some. He was trapped and confined before Ghalid. He will explain Lord Ghalid has immense power and no idea how it was contained.
