NaNoWriMo Approacheth.

I debated long and hard about whether or not I’m going to participate officially in NaNoWriMo this year. I’m not officially going to do it, but I have lots of love for anyone who does. I am going to be dedicating this November to writing one of a couple of TTRPG projects.

I have two things in mind to attempt to showcase my writing talents and maybe start putting a portfolio together. I’ve already begun work on the sourcebook for use with Shadowdark I’m planning. It will eventually be a digital release on DriveThruRPG.

The other project is up in the air at the moment. I know I’m going to want a break from all the fantasy action, so it’s probably going to involve mecha in space. I’ve also got some alternative fantasy OSR projects I could start development on. A lot of it depends on how the Shadowdark project progresses more than anything.

Meanwhile, over here on the blog.

We’re going to be seeing a lot of opinion articles because I’ve held off on several topics during October. I also want to expound upon some of the things I said earlier in the month. Wizards of the Coast continues to rile everyone up and a couple of the other “leaders” in the TTRPG scene aren’t doing much better. It’s sad and I think I need to call them on their bullsh🦆t.

I’ll also be dropping some overdue reviews. I’ve had several things on the back burner for a while now and it’s time to discuss them. I’ve also got a couple of requests for reviews in my inboxes to take a look at. We’ll see what comes of it.

Last, I’ll be dropping short progress reports on the days I do a lot of wok on the project for use with Shadowdark. These will likely be very short updates, especially on days I drop 2,500+ words on the sourcebook. I might not be doing NaNoWriMo officially, but there are going to be days when I try to keep pace.

Thanks for stopping by. If you do #NaNoWriMo2023, I wish you all the best of luck. I appreciate you.
