3 Plot ideas involving squirrels:

The Cult of Nutty: for any fantasy game. Ah, squirrels. They look so cute and innocent. The run around the yard and collect nuts, and look totally innocent, right? That’s where we were wrong.

Late in the night, when no one is looking, a cult of squirrels don their black robes and gather around a small stone circle. They dance in circles and offer sacrifices to their Eldritch god. Their leader wears a large, ancient gold medallion passed down for countless generations.

The squirrel cult’s ultimate goal is to summon:

  1. A Giant Eldritch (tentacles optional) Treant for them all to live in.
  2. A single Acorn from the Tree of All Knowledge.
  3. A Hell Hound to chase them around and play games.
  4. The Animalpocalypse in which Chosen Squirrels will rule supreme over all animals.
  5. Dare I say it- The Great and Powerful Squirrel-thulhu. (Elder Squirrel with tentacles.)
  6. A massive squirrel O🐿️gy. (Fade to Black.)
  7. To become the most intelligent squirrels in the world.
  8. Attain godhood themselves.
  9. Escape the pull of the land and become- Flying Squirrels!
  10. Summon a druid to serve at the feet of his squirrel masters.
  11. Manifest the world’s largest pile of nuts.
  12. Make the cult leader into a human to better protect them.

Squirrelsmodeus for any superhero game: (Originally Power Rangers RPG)
Summoned by an evil space witch to do her bidding on Earth, this half man, half squirrel looks like someone dressed in a furry Halloween costume. He has the power to summon dozens of innocent mundane squirrels to do his bidding.

He’s easily distracted and not the smartest villain, but he is quite fast and nimble physically. He can jump, climb, and scamper at blinding speed. He can be stopped by a jolt of electricity. He also doesn’t always watch where he’s going and has been known to run out into traffic unexpectedly.

The space witch said he was sent to Earth to find the giant golden nut that she lost under the city and all he has to do is find it. Squirrelsmodeus will tear up the city, randomly digging anywhere he thinks the golden nut might be buried. He could be a distraction while the space witch’s more competent bumbling minions actually find the MacGuffin, or he could be searching for it in earnest.

If he is stopped in his “puny form,” he will gigantify into Squirrelsmodeus the Greater, a 40 foot tall, nuclear fire breathing mega squirrel with razor sharp claws and a tail that throws fireballs. It will be important to move the fight away from populated areas and possibly talk to him. If he calms down or gets distracted enough, he will return to normal size and cease hostilities.

Squirrels in SPAAaaaace! (Because I had to.)

In a little known system in a galaxy far, far from known space exists a small arboreal planet called Squirrilon V. The native sentient lifeforms are, as you may have guessed, anthropomorphic squirrel folk. Fate intervened in this world’s evolution when some rogue traders accidentally landed on the planet.

The Squirilions were not ready for rapid technological advancements. One of the planet’s main continents was leveled in major power plant accident. This forced the remaining people to set out in eleven space arks. They had learned of a prophecy regarding a mythical system called, “Kobalt.” The few remaining beings turned toward technology for their assured survival.

Fast forward a few decades. Many Squirilions have become salvagers and raiders. This is where the group comes in. They have run into a small ship with its distress signal activated. What do they do?

Ideas for next time:

  1. Deck of Many Squirrels.
  2. Tiger’s Eye Squirrel Figurine.
  3. Manual of Squirrel Summoning.
  4. Bag of Many Squirrels.
  5. The Squirrel Armor set.
  6. A tribute to Marvel’s Squirrel Girl.
  7. When Squirrels Cry- ghost squirrels and why there are so many of them.
  8. Lycanthropic Squirrels.
  9. What Happens to Squirrels during the Zombie Apocalypse?
  10. Squirrel Wars.
  11. Squirrel-Tech.
  12. Squirrels, c/o the SCP Foundation.
