Here’s what I’m cheesed off about today, Internet:
(Okay, I’m mostly kidding.)
- I’m a little frustrated hearing about Big Bad Con and PAX Unplugged. Why? They’re nowhere near here. I’m glad y’all had fun. I would love to have joined some of you.
- I have met so many personalities and wonderful people online. It would be lovely to meet you in person. It’s just better being face-to-face sometimes.
- Sometimes it’s easier to convey messages in writing, but sometimes the feeling and the emphasis behind some things gets lost in translation. I mean, I’m awkward as Hell in person and I make lots of mistakes, but I get misinterpreted online every day, too.
- I never get tired of saying it: THE TTRPG HOBBY IS FOR EVERYONE! You are always welcome at the table as long as you’re willing to play nice with others and do not cause problems at the table.
- If someone asks to make a character in a combat wheelchair, please let them. If someone wants to make an Autistic character, please let them. If someone wants to make an extremely passionately gay character, please let them. As long as no one is overtly doing things to cause others to be uncomfortable at the table, let it go.
It’s a TTRPG and some people want to make characters they themselves can identify with. Gygax himself used this as the reason for making the original Dungeons & Dragons human focused. (I wish I could find the article.) The game is focused through a human lens because the players are human. (*Mostly.)
My point is: We don’t discriminate in the TTRPG Community! - I’d organize a TTRPG convention myself. I know what it requires. I know how to do it. I’m just missing a few key things to get it going. Namely people, money, and a location.
- What’s the bast social media platform for talking about depression? (Asking for a friend.)
- I’ve been devouring TTRPG YouTube content lately. I really love the people who can stay on topic with games and not bicker with other YouTubers.
- Holy Crap! Ryoko’s Guide to the Yokai Realms is over $2 Million on Kickstarter. Link HERE. It’s got seven days left to go. I would have never expected to see a 5E sourcebook go this high so close to the new version of D&D coming in 2024. Congrats to Will over at DnD Shorts, though. Wow!
- Does anyone else feel that $15 is a lot to pay for shipping on one book from a destination in the continental US to a point within the same country? (*Not related to KS project above..) I feel like it’s a lot unless they’re using UPS or FedEx overnight First Class.
- Just my friendly reminder to please be nice to one another online and in person. Please?
I appreciate all of my readers. You mean the world to me. Thank you for stopping by. More October prompts coming. I just needed to get all of this off my chest.
