I wish I had done this challenge last year. There are a lot of these questions worthy of consideration over the course of a longer period of time. That, and “weird” just means I’m not doing the same thing as everyone else.
Steve Jackson’s Toon gets pretty out of hand and off the wall. If you want to be totally bizarre and almost nonsensical, Toon goes there pretty quick sometimes. Some of the powers inherent to that game are downright broken. Our table antics would probably have made the Animaniacs blush.
No discussion of strange games would be complete without mentioning Skyrealms of Jorune. This game has a big lexicon of terms unique to it. Players and Game Masters even have their own unique names. It’s a truly immersive experience unlike any TTRPG I’ve ever encountered. Add to this a heap of very different character species and fantasy tropes. It’s a surreal, almost alien experience.
