Some of our Monstober activities have been disrupted… by kittens.

On October 19th I found two tiny black kittens, shivering, hungry, and alone under our deck. Mama kitty was nowhere in sight. We’re not sure if this was the whole litter or if mommy was moving them. But they’re almost pure black and it’s almost Halloween. I wasn’t taking any chances.

Of course we brought them inside and began taking care of them. We figure they were about two or three weeks old when we found them. They down bottles of kitten formula like crazy. They have the cutest blue eyes and are already showing lots of personality. They’ve changed our lives around here.

It’s like having baby humans in the house all over again. Feedings every three hours, cuddles, potty training, messes to clean up and tons of love. The only good news is the kittens age a little faster and will be on solid food in a month or so, maybe sooner. Right now they’re just little tiny cuddle beans.

When I’m awake and coherent enough I’m working on a review of Outgunned Adventure RPG as well as Gates of Krystalia and a couple other games on here. There’s also a pile of reviews in the works for YouTube assuming I get a chance to make them without a bunch of interruptions. There’s one major takeaway from reviewing all of these European created RPGs is that American game design has really started to slide over the last few years, but that’s a whole different article.

Monstober might be over for us this year, but it was a nice run. It’s also given me more entries in the massive monster catalog I’m building up for Dragonbane. November and December will have Monday Monsters as usual. We’re also coming back to Worldbuilding Wednesday soon. There may also be some solo roleplaying sessions in the near future as we move into the holiday (Euww mush) movie season.

I also haven’t gotten to talk about one of my new favorite solo games, 5 Star Match yet. It’s an exciting solo game that places you in the shoes of a booking agent/producer for a pro wrestling entertainment franchise. I might start posting some of my match results as they come available. I have two separate promotions running right now, one of which is based on parody personalities from TTRPG X (Twitter.) I’ve been kinda getting into wrestling again. It’s like a soap opera.

I’m also overdue to write a few “don’t-be-a-Dick” scripts for YouTube and articles on here. It seems that particular narrative has gotten lost in the fold again recently with all of the backlash over that Wizards of the Coast Dungeons & Dragons artwork. Some people really showed their skunky stripes on that one. It made me feel a little sad. That having been said, spread kindness and joy in the hobby as much as you can.

Hope you’re having a great week. Please try to stay positive with everything going on out there. I’m going to catch a few hours of sleep before the next round of bottle feeding.

Thank you for being here with me today. I appreciate you. Keep it real, but please strive for positivity, too. Please embrace the things that bring you the most joy in your life.
